HEPA and ULPA Filters

The HEPA (High Efficiency Particle Air) and ULPA (Ultra Low Penetration Air) filters are used under conditions which require high efficiency of sub micrometric toxic or dangerous particle material (PM), where filters cannot be cleaned.

Our own Test Laboratory is unique in its kind in South America and allows us to certify the efficiency of the products we offer. We provide filters with individual certificates of conformance of DIN EN 779 (pre-filters and fine filters) and DIN EN 1822 (HEPA and ULPA filters) standards.

These filters may be used in any appliance with low air flow capacity and low contaminant concentration, where the dust produced can be collected and centralized.

The HEPA and ULPA filters have the following minimum efficiency designation: HEPA, 99,97% efficiency for removal of 0,3 um or bigger diameter particle material; ULPA, 99,9995% efficiency for removal of 0,12 um or bigger diameter particle material. These filters require pre-filtering to remove large PM or dust concentrations larger than 0,03 g/cm2.

The usual industrial applications of HEPA and ULPA filters are:

  • Disposal incinerators in Hospitals
  • Low level nuclear waste and mixed waste
  • Nuclear ventilation and security systems

And the usual commercial ones:

  • Clean rooms
  • Laboratories
  • Food Industry
  • Manufactory of Pharmacy products
  • Manufactory of Micro-electronic products
  • Home (in air-vent ducts or air purifiers)
